Directions to the mine:
We are located approximately 50 miles West of Delta, Utah, a small town 130 miles Southwest of Salt Lake City. Our quarry is located at Antelope Springs, just around the bend from U-Dig Fossil Quarry. It is not recommended to “Google” our site or depend on electronic navigation services, as it is most likely that the service will drop once you enter the mountains. Please print these directions!
From Delta travel West on Highway 6/50 for 29 miles (mile marker 56). Turn Right onto a maintained gravel and dirt road. Travel 20 miles on this road, and please use caution as there are dangerous curves about 11 miles up, and again at approximately 15 miles, as you head into the mountains. Continue on the main road as it passes the U-Dig entrance (the road will curve to the left, and then to the right). Turn right at Antelope Springs and drive up the hill and all the way to the end of the road! The roads are well maintained and any vehicle can get here. Four wheel drive is not necessary.
Just a note : we are northeast of U-Dig. The road to our quarry goes through another quarry. Please make sure you have made it to us (ASK for Clay Holman or if you are at A New Dig) before you start digging, since we will be at our quarry waiting for you. Our little yellow sign pointing to our driveway is at the Antelope Springs stand pipe (where water is coming out of a pipe). AFTER passing the U-Dig sign (the sign at their driveway entrance), hug the turn to the right, take two breaths, and you will see our little yellow sign. Please carry a spare tire and jack and don't forget to fuel up in Delta.
Accommodations are available in the nearby town of Delta Utah, where there are several hotels and an RV park. And for the more adventurous folks, dry camping and RV parking is allowed at our quarry.
